Treatment
At New Hope Wellness Center, Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) is the foundation of our HIV treatment services. Aa medication regimen that helps people living with HIV achieve and maintain an undetectable viral load. ART prevents HIV from multiplying in the body, protects the immune system, reduces the risk of HIV-related complications, and empowers people with HIV to live long, healthy lives. ART also prevents the sexual transmission of HIV. Clients who maintain an undetectable viral load cannot transmit HIV to their sexual partners a proven fact captured by the phrase U=U: Undetectable = Untransmittable.
Long-Acting Injetable Art
In addition to daily oral medications, people living with HIV now have the option of long-acting injectable ART. Cabotegravir and rilpivirine (brand name: Cabenuva) is the first FDA-approved long-acting injectable HIV treatment. It is administered as two intramuscular injections, typically every 4 or 8 weeks, depending on the individual’s treatment plan and clinical needs. Injectable ART offers an effective, convenient alternative to daily pills — providing the same ability to achieve and maintain an undetectable viral load (U=U) with fewer treatment visits per year.
At New Hope Wellness Center, we work with each patient to find the treatment option that best supports their health, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
